This scintillating two-strip Technicolor restoration of a landmark cinematic musical revue is seen in its dazzling original form for the first time in 87 years. Directed by a master of 1920s stage musicals and hosted by one of the most popular band leaders of the Roaring Twenties, it includes the dancers who were renamed the Rockettes, 26-year-old Bing Crosby, a cartoon by Woody Woodpecker creator Walter Lanz, and great jazzbos like Joe Venuti and Eddie Lang.
Jazz historian Gary Giddens calls it “a Rosetta Stone of early American pop.”
