The Downtown Smithfield Development Corporation will host its eighth Downtown Smithfield Wine Walk, a wine tasting to raise money for Harbor and its programs, on Friday, April 21, 2017. The Wine Walk will take place from 5:00-9:00 p.m., when walkers will visit eighteen participating businesses in the downtown district to sample a different wine at each location. Walkers will begin at Harbor Shelter’s Pizazz, located at 119 North Third Street in Downtown Smithfield, where tickets will be available for $20 per person. There, walkers will have their IDs checked and be given commemorative wine glasses and a wristband to wear, which will allow them to taste different wines at eighteen businesses. Harbor is Johnston County's only nonprofit agency providing assistance to victims of domestic violence. With its team of highly credentialed and experienced staff and volunteers, Harbor provides advocacy services, resources, and programs to assist women and children in need.

Participants may reserve their tickets at Pizazz beginning Monday, April 17. Each participant will still need to present his or her ID at Pizazz prior to beginning the Wine Walk to receive their wine glass and wristband.
