A book club for those of us who like to read Young Adult (YA)/Teen literature, but are a little more «A» than «Y». Monthly books will be a mix of forgotten favorites (out in paperback) and newly-released titles (available in hardcover), with the intent to hold a lively monthly discussion and perhaps enjoy an author event or two. Held at Quail Ridge Books, moderated by Quail Ridge bookseller, Broche Fabian. Meeting (usually) the third Thursday of each month.
July 20: WILL GRAYSON, WILL GRAYSON by John Green and David Levithan (published 2010)
A sometimes (sadly) overlooked novel by two beloved authors in their own right, WILL GRAYSON, WILL GRAYSON follows the story of two teenagers named Will Grayson. One gay, one straight, both are struggling with their own issues in their own little universes. Little do they know, about halfway through this book their worlds will collide, intersect, and bounce away again, having been irrevocably, permanently, and ultimately positively altered.
For those who enjoyed reading Will Grayson, Will Grayson, you can read further in an optional bonus book! David Levithan also published HOLD ME CLOSER: THE TINY COOPER STORY (2015), a musical novel companion to Will Grayson, Will Grayson. This is not required reading to attend the book club.
We will also vote on the September new release novel we wish to read: SAINTS AND MISFITS by S.K. Ali, THE GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO VICE AND VIRTUE by Mackenzie Lee, or WONDER WOMAN: WARBRINGER by Leigh Bardugo.
