The Original BuckShop will engage you in the culture and traditions of the black New Orleans community as it pertains to our history and lifestyle. New Orleans, one of the most unique and culturally enriched cities in the United States, continus to maintain its Diasopric traditions everyday through its music, dance, food, language, and art just to name a few. Conjuring up dances on the scared grounds of Congo Square, as we Second Line down the streets of North Roman while chatting to the call and response of the Big Chiefs meeting face to face is who we be. The movement workshop is catered to all ages and ethnicities. The Original BuckShop is curated by New Orleans Own Choreographer, Educator, and Performing Artist Michelle N. Gibson MFA.
Mz G's Second Line Aesthetics
Michelle N. Gibson, The Artist creates works, teaches master classes, and presents lectures that are firmly rooted in her own “ New Orleans Second Line Aesthetic " that involves improvised movement and interpretation, defined footwork and full body articulation, brass band music and the embrace of communal ritual.
In an effort to assist in preserving her culture she teaches others about the rich Diasporic blood lines of the black New Orleans community focusing on the rooted and embodied traditions clearly noticeable within Second Line Movement. Honoring the culture as a lived experience by creating a platform of the aesthetic and historical relevance becoming apart of the academic conversation as it pertains to cultural and social dance.

Presentation of information through full embodiment: NOLA essence reflected in voice, facial expression, body language, eye contact
Technical proficiency of movement emphasized (rhythm, intention, physicality; in past experiences steps have been taught as open to interpretation
