Nasher Museum Director Sarah Schroth was instrumental in bringing «The Medici’s Painter: Carlo Dolci and 17th-Century Florence» to Duke. She will give a talk about Dolci, who was a favorite of the Medici court and a celebrated and popular artist in his day. Dolci's personal and original interpretation of sacred subjects fell out of favor in the 19th century, however. «The Medici’s Painter» invites us to see this artist with new eyes. Lecture hall doors open at 6:30 PM. Space is limited. $5 or free with a ticket to The Medici’s Painter. Free to all members.
