Down By Five:
Down By Five have been playing locally and regionally for several years in North Carolina and surrounding areas. We have shared the stage with The Expendables, Passafire, Ballyhoo, Badfish, and Sun-Dried Vibes among others. We are the founders/hosts of Roots Rock Raleigh, a yearly showcase of up and coming local and regional reggae/rock/ska bands, which had its 3rd year running in 2017. DB5 have also played Irie Vibes Music Festival and Carrboro Music Festival.

2016 saw a major lineup change with drummer Patrick Moseley and bassist Ty Howe joining founding member/frontman TJ Cowhey and lead guitarist Dan Dehler. As the completed band wrote new material, the songs continued to get funkier and heavier, focusing on riff-driven heavy rock while staying true to the band's reggae-rock roots. TJ's catchy vocal hooks, Dan's heavy rock 'n roll guitar sound, Ty's funky bass lines and vocal harmonies, and Patrick's aggressive prog metal/fusion drumming style came together to make a really creative, original sound that is accessible to a wide audience.

The Pseudo Cowboys:
Hailing from Raleigh, NC, The Pseudo Cowboys perform a captivating blend of raucous original rock and roll, channeling the great 70's rock-era sound, and coupling it with a daring lyric style reminiscent of the early 1990's movement and danceable rhythmic elements a la Prince and Michael Jackson.

Live, the band creates an exhilarating, foot-stomping, heart-thumping experience, with anthemic songs such as there latest single, «Nectarine.» Pseudo Cowboys shows are a shared expression of emotional extremes, vacillating between joy and frustration. The band aims is to create a «put-your-cell-phone-away-and-just-dance» return to primal muscular bonding. In addition to their fee-good rock n roll sound, the band in the studio taps into expressing more nuanced aspects of the human condition…

I Am Maddox:
"...I Am Maddox uses burly, catchy aggression to rip through an enigmatic sci-fi narrative about a post apocalyptic world. Even if you don't care for such conceptual nonsense, the group's sharp guitar interplay and CJ Bauckham's charismatic presence carry the day."
-Indy Weekly

«Concept records and bands often fall flat. The songs of Raleigh's I Am Maddox follow an enigmatic sci-fi narrative about revolution in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. It's hard to follow, but the band doesn't rely on the gimmick as its biggest strength. Concept aside, the group's sharp guitar interplay and vocalist C.J. Bauckham's high-flying melodrama still have plenty of power.»
