As a visible public witness of our commitment to racial justice and reconciliation, is it our tradition at St. Philip's to join with our fellow members of the Durham community in the city's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebrations.
We will gather at the North Carolina Mutual Life Building Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. where we'll march down Chapel Hill and Main Streets (ending at First Presbyterian Church) with our neighbors from all over Durham to honor the life and witness of MLK (whom
The Episcopal Church recognizes with a feast day on its calendar of saints), to lift up all those who have joined and aided in the struggle against injustice, and to pay tribute to those whose lives have been touched or ended by injustice.
There's no school on Monday, so we strongly encourage you to invite any children and youth in your orbit to come march with us.
ALL are welcome!
