Maybe there is a dark bar in your past, where somebody played Siouxsie & the Banshees and the Cure, the Sisters of Mercy and perhaps gloomy songs you didn't even know — but that didn't matter because you were happy to be there.
Or perhaps you discovered this music somewhere else, and you've always wished there was a dark bar not too far away, where you could hang out and listen in the company of like-minded (I like to call us 'dark-hearted') folks.
Innocence & Lies is a tribute to all those old, dark bars dating back to the eighties. We start a little early (7:30) because it's Thursday, and you may need to be home at a responsible time. Arcana has the dim lighting, craft cocktails, and cozy couches to make you feel right at home. And we're there through midnight.
Michael Williams will be on hand for tarot consultations. A familiar face in the dark-hearted scene, he is the perfect fit for this party. He offers readings at a variety of price points.
And I spin like it's 1983. Or 1989. Or 1995. I'll even throw in some of the new stuff that's clearly been inspired by the old stuff. And yes, people dance.
Innocence & Lies convenes on the second Thursday of each month, so this time around it's April 12. Stop by if the mood strikes you.
7:30 PM until. No cover. 21+
