Black Violin is composed of classically trained violist and violinist Wil B. And Kev Marcus, who combine their classical training and hip-hop influences to create a distinctive multi-genre sound that is often described as “classical boom.” Black Violin has shared stages with top names including Kanye West, Aerosmith and Tom Petty, and has creatively collaborated with the likes of Wu-Tang Clan, Wyclef Jean and Alicia Keys.
To highlight Black Violin’s dedication to accessible music education, the band likes to partner with local youth orchestras. For the date at Cary’s Booth Amphitheatre, it seemed natural to partner with the Philharmonic Association – Triangle Youth Music, whose mission is to prove and opportunity for young musicians to learn, understand, and perform all genres of great classical and jazz music. Twenty-eight members of the Philharmonic will have the opportunity to perform with Black Violin at Booth Amphitheatre on August 18th.
Featuring a very special performance as members of the Philharmonic Association – Triangle Youth Music, will join Black Violin on stage the night of the show!
