(1968) Written and directed by George Romero. Duane Jones, Judith O’Dea, Karl Hardman. (96 min.) NR.
Half a century ago, George Romero put flesh-eating zombies on the nightmare map with this black and white Pittsburgh-shot cheapie. Deeply unsettling, and pioneering in its monstrous imagery, Night also shattered barriers with its pioneering African American splatter film hero.
The “unpredictable nature of this film shook up horror film-making and allowed fresh talent to explore a whole new chilling level of terror” (BBC).
Gates open 90 minutes before showtime.
Picnics are welcome. Alcoholic beverages may not be brought in; all nonalcoholic beverages, including water, must arrive in factory-sealed containers.
